Ms. Abdkahar has professional experience working in concrete, cement, aggregates, mining, and mineral exploration sectors and currently holds a Professional Geologist (PG) designation in the state of Georgia. Aisyah currently leads the Concrete Materials Science Group at Terracon, that includes the Petrography, Chemistry, Cement, and Specialty Concrete Laboratories located in various Terracon offices across the country. Her primary expertise is in concrete petrography, and specialty materials consulting, in addition to building, managing, and innovating various methods and technologies. Her expertise includes concrete forensics and troubleshooting field placement issues, cement research and testing, analytical chemistry and evaluation, and aggregate issues and testing. Her responsibilities include managing and coordinating projects by performing petrographic analyses of concrete, masonry, and aggregates by optical microscopy and ancillary petrographic methods. She is a sessional instructor of the Minnesota DOT Certification program that includes various deleterious testing. Additionally, she is an active member of several ACI and ASTM C01, C09 committees. She is the current Task Group Chair of C09.20 Aggregates: Descriptive Tests, and C09.65 Petrography: ASTM C295 Aggregate Petrography.
