About me
Public works and transportation engineering leader specializing in pavement management, materials technology, infrastructure preservation, and innovation-driven asset management. I currently serve as Materials Technology Branch Manager at the Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT), where I lead materials engineering, laboratory operations, quality assurance, and infrastructure innovation initiatives supporting one of the nation’s largest county-managed roadway networks.
Previously, as Pavement Management Program Supervisor, I built and led MCDOT’s data-driven pavement preservation and rehabilitation program, developing a comprehensive countywide 5-year preservation strategy focused on lifecycle cost optimization, infrastructure sustainability, and protection of taxpayer investment. I also developed innovative project prioritization and packaging methodologies, including the “Super Segment” approach, to improve funding efficiency and long-term infrastructure planning, while implementing an in-house pavement inspection and quality control program that enabled annual condition assessments of the entire roadway network using a two-person team and a single inspection vehicle for five consecutive uninterrupted years.
My work focuses on advancing cost-effective and sustainable infrastructure solutions through modernization, emerging technologies, preservation strategies, and data-driven decision-making. I am particularly driven by opportunities to extend pavement life, improve infrastructure performance, strengthen operational efficiency, and maximize return on public investment.
In recognition of these efforts, I received the 2024 Horizon Award from the Pavement Preservation & Recycling Alliance (PPRA) and the 2024 Robert C. Esterbrooks Rising Star Award from the Arizona Association of County Engineers (AACE).
