About me
Matt Manthey is the Pavement Management Supervisor for the City of Mesa, where he oversees pavement management and preservation efforts focused on maintaining and extending the life of the City’s roadway network.
Mr. Manthey has been with the City of Mesa for 15 years. Prior to joining the City, he spent 15 years in the construction materials testing and inspection industry, most recently with AMEC Earth & Environmental, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
A strong advocate for innovation in pavement preservation, Mr. Manthey is a firm believer in expanding the pavement preservation “toolbox” through the evaluation and implementation of new products, technologies, and practices. He has worked with numerous agencies throughout the Southwest to develop and share best practices in pavement preservation and pavement management, with particular emphasis on material performance, cost effectiveness, and life-cycle value.
Mr. Manthey currently serves as Co-Chair of the Steering Committee for the Southwest Pavement Technology Consortium in partnership with Arizona State University. The consortium brings together academia, public agencies, and industry to foster collaboration, advance pavement technology, and develop practical solutions to the challenges facing today’s roadway infrastructure.
